continued flow of fine corporate
reports, the stock market Wednes
day turned in one oft he best per
formances of the year.
The Associated Press average of
60 stocks gained 90 cents and
closed at $114.90. The sain is the
best since last Nov. 24. The in
dustrial component of the average
gained SL10, railroads gained 90
cents, and utilities gained 29 cents.
There were 650 gainers in the
list of 141 individual issues ap
pearing on the tape and 233 losers.
New 1952-53 highs came to 78 and
new lows to. fiv .
volume made a good showing for
the bullish forces andezpanded to
1,890,000 shares. - That r compares
with 1,530,000 shares traded Tues
