French heather in a milk glass ' wedding dish . . . a similar bou- ouet on the . piano' guests. admiring the beautiful antique cut glass, which the Quistads nave collected as a hobby . In the hallway and attractive den, which has just been 'completed, bouquets of daffodils, forsythia and narcis suses . . i . The hostesses in spring frocks . .. . Doris Wilson in pink and Doris Quistad irr lilac . . HIGHLIGHT Of THE TEAR for the teen-age contingent . the Hi-Y Sweetheart dance a week ago at the Salem High S c h o o l gymnasium - . . uupw ananean cutouts everywhere . . adorn ing the J mesh curtains and the frame outlining the orchestra pit . .. . all taken later as favors by the guests. ... Red and white twisted streamers forming a false ceiling and coming to the center, where there was a huge cluster of red balloons ... . most colorful . . An anxious 'moment . . . until Pat Largent, student body presi dent, announced the "sweetheart," pretty Joan Seamster . -. , a heart shaped crown of hyacinths was placed on her head by Pat and he also presented her with a gold sweetheart locket . . . For this eventful occasion Joan wore a white net frock sprinkled with se quins with a white satin bodice. The princesses . . . also choos ing white frocks and the girls all carrying hearts of roses and hya cinths . : . Jozann Clark in fro thy white net and a red velvet rib- coffee on bon choker 'around her neck' White lace with a stole the choice of Noreen: Nelson , -. Petite; brunette Sally. Greig ? wearing full skirted white net frock with red velvet bodice trimmed in the net . . Margie Barge's dress of white net wun a DiacK natter xop . . ; and Nancy Osterbergs white net frock with brocaded bodice .,. . Dancing by , . Pretty, bru nette Judy Loucks wearing a beautiful gown of shell pink nylon tulle ... strapless with a stole and tucked down the side of the skirt huge, pink roses . Coffee serv ed in the dining room ... many going on into the library to chat over the coffee cups ... defin- tely a fun party and a grand idea for a Sunday afternoon and even ing . . . The hosts . . . receiving infor mally in the living room and en trance hall . i . Mrs. Elfstrom in a becoming Dresden blue after noon gown , -, . and Mrs. Geist choosing a greige linen with pleat ed skirt . . At the door . . . . the junior Robert Elf stroma ; . V . Jean wearing a good looking Val entine red velvet, suit . . . and the Donald Campbells . . . she in' a smart black ensemble . . . Beautiful bouquets ... through out the house . . . A large bou quet of red carnations on the cof fee table . . . which we under stand was a gift to the . hostesses from one of the male guests . . . . Pink carnations and heather on the mantel . a striking ar rangement of calla lilies at - one end of the living room . . . flow ering plum and other blossoms about the rooms . . a lovely bou quet of Christmas roses in the li brary . . . and probably the sweetest bouquet of all ... the little nosegay of 'violets and red roses, which little Timmy Elf strom brought to his grandparents on Valentine's Day ... The coffee table ... just like a Valentine all in the pink and vi- olet shades ... a handsome shell pink floor length cloth ,. . . a white milk glass compote filled with an old fashioned arrangement of pink roses, hyacinths, ranuncu luses, heather and bunches of vi olets flanked by milk glass candlesticks holding white tapers ... on the table, were , tiny lilac velvet : " hearts I centered with ' 'a Christmas rose .
