Eisenhower in Korea, said Monday the entire strategic situation in the Far ast was re viewed and discussed during Eis enhowers visit, t Chase, head of the US Military Assistance Advisory Croup (MAAG). told his first news conference since returning to Tai- peh Sunday from Korea: "Eisenhower was most eager to hear all about the present situa tion of Free China here on For mosa. The problem of Communist China also was discussed in great detail." Chase said Eisenhower neglect ed no opportunity to learn all he could about Far East problems. Asked whether the general ap peared well-informec on the situ ation. Chase said: "I frankly think that he learned iore about the situation in For mosa than he'd heard before that's why I wasent for." Chase told reporters neither Eis enhower nor his party disclosed any future plans pertaining to the Far East during their talks. Chase said he conferred with the gen eral "five or six times." Upon returning here Sunday, Chase immediately went into con ference with Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek. Stabbed Fatally At P-TA Dance THE DALLES im Bert Allen. S3, of The Dalles, was fatally tabbed at PTA dance at Lyle, Wash.. Saturday night, and ajfew hours later Lawrence Benton Powell, accused of the slaying, was arrested. Powell. 28, also of The Dalles, signed a statement saying he had ited a pocket knife to protect mself against Allen, Rex Thorn ton, chief of police at The Dalles, said. Allen died from seven knife wounds in the chest. Sheriff E. C. Kaiser of Goldendale, Wash., re ported. The stabbing occurred outside the Lyle school gymnasium. Pow ell had taken Allen's ex-wife to a dance there. The Aliens were' di vorced three, days ago. Wrecks Plague Bus Driver City Transit Driver Bernard Helt, 1125 Aiken Dr., had "one of those days" Sunday when his bus was involved in two separate minor trafficccidents. An accident in the morning oc curred at Broadway and Academy Streets involving a collision with an auto driven br Dwifht M. G ruber, 1520 S. I Commercial St. No one was injured and both vehi cles were reported dented. Then in the afternoon. Helt w involved in a collision at South Liberty and Ferry Streets with an auto driven by David Oliver Dav idson, 185 Hrubetz Rd. Sheefy of Dublins Secret Papers Said Invo ved hi Drunk Case WASHINGTON CJ) Stat De partment officials said. Sunday they were looking into reports that a veteran foreign service officer was carrying secret papers when he and his wife were arrested on in toxication charges early Saturday morning. The two were taken into custody after the automobile in which they were riding collided with a tele phone pole in adjacent Arlington County, Va. They were Foy David Kohler. 44. a member of the State Department's poll y planning staff, and his wife, Mrs. Phyllis Kohler, 42. Kohler, a former head of the de partment's Voice of America, was carrying a brief cast and Police Pvt Bernard Lunsford quoted him as saying it contained secret ma terial. Police notified the State Depart ment and three agents arrived shortly afterward to take charge of the briefcase. Department aids de clined to discuss the matter Sunday other than to say it was being looked into. Kohler, who has held posts at Bucharest, Athens, Cairo, London and elsewhere, forfeited $8.75 on a charge of public intoxication. His wife was released in $500 bond pending a hearing Monday on a charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol. Kohler's collateral was forfeited at the Arlington police station. Mrs. Kohler's bond was posted there pending an appearance in Arling ton County court. Young Swimmer Killed hy Shark In Monterey Bay PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. tf A 17-year-old boy was attacked and killed by a huge shark Sunday while swimming only 50 feet from shore in Monterey bay. One of young Berry Wilson's legs was nearly severed. The other badly mangled. Large pieces of flesh were bitten away. A group of marine biologists summoned from the nearby Hop kins Marine Laboratory of Stan ford University said the wounds were made by shark's teeth. Wit. nesses said the shark was at least 15 feet long. Wilson and a friend, Brookner W. Brady Jr.. 15, were swimming alone when the shark attacked. Brady and four men swam to Wilson, and Brady reported a huge form under water darted away as they approached. Wilson was dead when he was brought ashore. Albert Agricultural College, said after a series of tests that the drug adds 10 per cent more weight to turkeys over a 12-week period.
