Guests have been invited to the wedding of Jean Stewart, Palo Alto, and Jack Brown, Bend . The ceremony will be held at the ' First Congregational ' Church on Bandar afternoon, Nov. 23 at 2:30. A reception will follow at the At ' pha Chi Omega house. Students in the Willamette Col lege of Law will hold their first dance of the season Tuesday night at the Knights , of Columbus hall .. . . included in the program of the dinner-dance will be skits by - the students. Members of Pi Beta PbJ have re cently entertained Mrs. Betty Ryan, president of Lambda prov ince of Pi Beta Phi. Mrs. Ryan is the newly i elected president and this is hen first visit to the Wil lamette chapter. Don Scarborough, Woodburn, was named Rotarian of the Month, by the student council this week . . . Dbn is editor of the Willamette Collegian, campus newspaper, and member of Sigma Alpha Chi, Cardinal Key and Sigma Alpha Ep siton fraternity. He spent last spring semester studying at Ameri- Willamette Independent Town . Mtfton Carson of Hopewell to Max LaVern Martin, son of Floyd Martin of Dayton, Wash. The wedding was held Nov. ll at 8 p. m. Lighting the tapers were Miss Valery 3a vis and Miss Pauline Kraemer. Miss Davis also was the soloist. The bride wore a grey gabardine suit with a winter white hat Her accessories were black. She car- ried a white Bible topped with a wniie orcruo. . ; Mrs. Enos Kerb, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Her suit was a rose knit Mrs. David Brown was the bridesmaid and she wore an aqua knit suit Both wore matching crotched Javed and rose- Dua corsages. Best man was Norman Martin. brother of the groom, and Robert Brown, Uonald Dixon and Enos Korb were ushers. Dr. . Robert K. Russell per formed the ceremony, i The reception followed in the church basement.' Mrs. Holland Dunning, aunt of the groom, poured. Miss Ruth Rae cut the cake and serving were Miss Ro berta Yaw and Mrs. Leslie Doug- las. Miss Meret Khunke played the piano during the reception. After a wedding trip to Seattle, the couple will make their home at 3334 S. E. Hawthorne. Portland. Mrs. Martin is a graduate nurse and Mr. Martin is employed as grocer at present. He plans to at tend school after Jan. L on the agenda are plans for the annual dance on December 5. Broadway Plays To Be Given Hero The 20-30 club, through the Civic Drama Guild of New York, pro ducers of the Civic Drama Festi vals, has booked for local presen tation, three Broadway plays, di rect from New York City, with pro fessional casts. These stage at tractions. The Fledennous. Glad Tidings and Jenny Kissed Me arc being offered as a series. Legitimate attractions on Broad way are currently getting for one play the price charged locally for the entire series. The first play. Glad Tidings, will go on stage Monday, Nov. 24 at the Salem High School Auditorium. Tickets are on sale at Steven a Jewelers. FOUR CORNERS The project "Main Dish Meals" was presented by Mrs. S. H. Cable and Mrs. Oli ver : Rickman preparing six main dishes for the 12 o'clock luncheon at an all day extension unit meet ing on Tuesday in the Community nan. Hostesses Mrs. Wilfred Wilier. Mrs. I. T. Plans Made for - Holiday Party The monthly meeting of the Mill City American Legion Auxiliary t held at the home of Mrs. C W. Stewart, president. The date for the annual Christ mas party was set for Dec 14. at 5:30 p. m. All legion members are Invited to bring their- famil ies. There will be candy erven out Dy tvanta to the children and covered dish dinner will be served. There will be a Joint meeting on ov. a to make - final arrange ments for the party. After this meeting tne men win be given a spaghetti feed by the auxiliary memoers. The drive for gifts for the vet erans in the hospitals has started and all the auxiliary members have been contacted to bring gifts. Mrs. Paul Ragsdale was a guest for the evening. Project Leaders Are Named SALEM HEIGHTS The Liberty Salem Heights Home Extension unit met on Thursday at the Salem Heights Community hau for an all day meeting. Main dish meals were presented by two project leaders, Mrs. Ralph Cole and Mrs. Harvey WiHard. Portions of the main dishes cooked and demonstrated in preparation was served to the members with each one supplying a sack lunch. Hostesses were Mrs. William Hall and Mrs. Ernest Free. I Mrs. Orville Raymond conducted the business meeting and named Mrs. Howard Gardner and Mrs. Helen Grabenhorst as project lead ers in the braided jug workshop. Mrs. Harold Rosebraugh spoke on World citizenship, and Norway. Mrs. Ralph Coie will be an assistant on World citizenship. Turkey Dinner for Gob i A turkey dinner was the high light of the November social meet ing of the Past Presidents Club, Sedgwick Woman's Relief Corps on Thursday at the home of Mrs. Forrest Pratt.
