Officer to Visit Shrine Members of Willamette Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem will hold a special meeting on Friday night, Sept. 26 in honor of the supreme worthy high priestess, Mrs. Vivian M. Parrish of Mur physboro, 111., who will make her official visit to the shrine. The 8 o'clock meeting will bo held at the Scottish Rite Temple. A 6:30 o'clock dinner at the Marion Hotel will precede the meeting and will honor Mrs. Par rish. Presiding at both affairs will be Mrs. William P. Lessard, wor thy high priestess, and William H. Brand, who - have just returned from attending the Supreme Court Justices and American Bar Asso ciation meetings in Sap Francisco, were in Portland Tuesday night to attend a dinner given in honor of Dr. and MrsJE. B. MacNaugh- ton. The affair was held at the Racquet Club and given by the board of trustees of Reed College of which Justice Brand Is a mem ber. Club Honors Mrs. Gragg Mrs. Albert C. Gragg, adviser for the Salem Junior Woman's Club, was honored with an informal re ception Monday night at the home of Mrs. Richard Lankow. During the evening plans were made for a float in the Kiwanis club kiddies day parade Saturday. Mrs. Harry Ewing is in charge of the project which will center around a registering to vote theme. The club decided to staff a booth at the Ladd and Bush bank next week for voter registration. Mrs. Sam Campbell read a his tory of the club, which was pre pared by Mrs. Roger Ritchey. Winners at the games were Mrs. Earl Hampton and Mrs. Virgie Ek trand. Guests included Mrs. Mel- vin Pillette, Mrs. Virgie Ektrand, Miss Donna Bush, Mrs. Mahlon Pengra, Mrs. Vincent Fletcher, Mrs. F. Square Dancing To Begin at YM There Is still time to enroll in tne Deginning American square and Round Dance Class and also the beginning International Folk Dance Class at the YMCA tonight. The beginning class in American Squares and Rounds starts at 7:30 pjn. in the big gym of the Y and is taught by Lucille Wilson. The beginning class In International Folk Dance begins at 9 pjn. in the small gym and will be taught by Hans and Caroline Schnoor of Portland. The recreational class in Amer lean Squares and Rounds on the intermediate level will continue as usual at 9 p.m. in the big gyn rwith Miss Wilson in charge. ' Symphony to Bo Hoard in Salem This year's series of concerts by the Portland Symphony orchestra u Salem will include three appear ances at Salem High School audi torium under the direction of James Sample. ' The opening concert December 2. when soloist will be Ralph Dobbs, distinguished pianist; February 3, Marie Rongdahl. Formerly of University of Oregon and later a featured soloist on The Hour of Charm; March 3, Rudolf Firkusny, pianist.
