J. Studebaker. local well drfller , . - . The water, flowing" at the rate of nearly 70 gallons a -minute, is in a basalt formation at a denth of 225 feet, Studebaker reported. He said water was first struck at the 185 foot level and the artesian flow five feet deeper. ; . The Clark place is about five miles west of Salem at an eleva tion about 800 feet or higher.
