A. Fuhr, whose engagement to Truman L. Runner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth O. Runner, all of Salem, was revealed Tuesday night. The bride-to-be told a group of ber friends of her betrothal at a party for which Miss Anne For ristel was hostess at the North 23rd Street home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Forristel. No date has been set for the wedding. Miss Fuhr is a graduate of Salem Schools and is now employed at the State Tax Commission. Her fiance is a graduate of Salem Schools and Oregon State College. He is employed at the Industrial Accident Commission. A dessert supper was served and the news was disclosed in a minia ture house arranged on the buffet with the names oZ the engaged duo bove the door. Roth. j The First Congregational Church was the scene of the wedding of Miss Joyce Annie Leachman, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Leachman of Langford, B. C, and Eric Charles Schuberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Schuberg of Salem, on Saturday, June 28. Dr. Seth R. Huntington officiat ed at the rites before a setting of white gladioluses, yellow iris and blue delphinium. William Bush was the soloist and Jean Hobson Rich the organist. The bridal gown was of French marquisette and Chantilly lace, fashioned with a train. Her finger tip veil of French illusion with lace edge cascaded from a Juliet cap of lace and satin trimmed with seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of Talisman roses. Mrs. Lloyd Swanson was the honor matron and Miss Marjorie Caven was the bridesmaid. They wore identical frocks of blue mar quisette and lace with matching mitts and Juliet caps. They carried bouquets of Esther Reed daisies. Raymond Schuberg was his bro ther's best man and Clarence We ber was the groomsman. Ushers were Virgil Mahaffy and Lloyd Swanson. A reception followed in the church parlors. Mrs. Leachman wore a dusty rose crepe gown with navy blue accessories for her daughter's wedding and Mrs. Schu berg chose a lavender crepe gown with white accessories. Their cor sages were of white carnations. For traveling the bride donned a grey suit with navy accessories. After July 15 the newlyweds will be at home la Salem at 1S72 N. Evelyn White to Be Married Mr. and Mrs. Arthur White of Jefferson are announcing the en gagement of their daughter. Miss Evelyn White, to Sgt. James F. Grimes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grimes of Jefferson. No date has been set for the wedding. Miss White and her fiance are graduates of Jefferson High School and the benedict-elect is now sta tioned with the marines at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Slorilmer Sporf Classes to Be Offered The YWCA summer session of classes will begin next week with the focus on sports. Instruction will be offered in tennis, archery, and swimming. Lestle Sparks, physical educa tion director and tennis coach at Willamette University, will be the instructor for the tennis class.' In struction will begin Tuesday, July 8, at 6:30 pjn. on the Willamette University courts. Mr. Sparks will teach the fundamentals of tennis playing as well as give individual help during the six week course. At the same time on Tuesday evening, archery instruction will be offered on the Willamette Uni versity field under the guidance of Miss Nancy Doughton. Bows and arrows will be furnished.
