Martin reported this week that the foun dation for the new water stand pipe has been completed. The Des Moines Steel Co., manufacturers of the tank to be erected, will have charge of its installation. Martin said he anticipated completion of the job within 30 days. j Wet Stayton Richard Nienke, reservist, left Monday for active duty with the Navy at San Diego, Calif. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nienke. His wife will reside with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Hofenbredl, during his absence. Four Corners Fire Chief and Mrs. Ted Miller and A. E. La Branch, board chairman of the Four Corners Rural District, at tended the state conference and school for fire chiefs at Medford. Four Corners won top honors in the gadget contest with an original and home-made automatic code device for sounding fire alarms. Mt. Angel LeRoy Obersinner, who has been studying for the priesthood at Mt. St. Michaels, Spokane, Wash., is her visting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Obersinner.
