Grain Prices
Head Downhill
CHIGAGO (-Prices of com
modities on the board of trade
took off in different directions
Wednesday. Grains went down
while soybeans and lard went up.
The divergence in trends didn't
develop until about mid-day in the
session. Until then, the whole
market had acted quite firm, al
though soybeans easily were out
distancing everything else. From
mid-day on wheat led a slow re
treat in all grains.
Wheat closed 4-lVi lower, corn
Va- lower, oats y-i lower, rye
y-4 lower, soybeans 14 -4 ft
higher and lard 7 to 20 cents a
hundred pounds higher.
