Dallas Bible School Group Airs Program Statesman N'ewi Service DALLAS Seventy-nine chil dren of the Weekday School of the Bible broadcast a program of stories, memory work and songs over radio station KMCM, Mc Minnville. Mrs. Goldia Ferguson is the instructor. This is the third radio broad cast made by the school. Story tellers were Eloise Staats, Joyce Wenger, David Pauls, Danny Schmitke, Elmer Jantzen, Mildred Rupp .John Rupp, Ronald Goert zen, Marijo Smith, David Yeo, Leeann Salisbury and Ruth Eng lien. All-Day Meet Of Missionary Unit Conducted Statesman News Service JEFFERSON' The Christian Women's Fellowship met for their all-day meeting Friday at the home of Mrs. W. R. Terhune with Mrs. M. A. Hutchings, assisting hostess. Mrs Virgil Bailes was program leader, telling of '"Our Work in Puerto Rico". Mrs. Bob Terhune led the devotions. Elec tion of officers resulted in nam ing Mrs. Gilbert Looney, presi dent: Mrs. Bailes, vice president; Mrs. Bob Terhune, secretary; Mrs. Robert Higgins, assistant secre tary; Mrs. Alvin Robison, treas urer. The city announces that no city wide cleanup day will be ob served this year, due to garbage disposal service here. The Social Hour Club met Thursday at the home of Mrs. Earl Nichols with Mrs. Jack De Vaney, co-hostess. Fourteen mem bers and two guests, Mrs. Georgia Bell of Pendleton and Mis. Bob Waggie of Albany attended. Over seven dollars were made from the plant sale. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Lawrence Compton. Mrs. Clifton DeVaney will assist. Officers HARLOW HAMERICK WILLAMINA - Funeral serv ices were held last week at St. Michael's Catholic church in Grand Ronde for Harlow Hamer ick, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamerick of Grand Ronde. He was born March 17, 1952, at Martinez, Calif., and passed away May 10. Father Scheffold officiat ed. Other survivors are a brother, Robert Ray, a sister, Beverly Jean, all of Grand Ronde. Interment was in Green Crest Memorial park. New officers elected are as fol lows: Mrs. Robert Cookson as Secretary; Mrs. D. Stark, vice president, and Mrs. Earl Steven son will serve as president. Hos tesses for the evening were Mrs. Robert Cookson and Mrs. Sam Drager. The meeting was held in the school house basement. Plans were made for the last day of school picnic and graduation which will be the first week in June. On Friday, May 16, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hall, a party honoring the fourth birthday of Colleen was pleasantly celebrated by sixteen pre-school children of the neighborhood, and their mothers, grandmothers or aunts. A 1 O 1 Angel Speech I MT. ANGEL - Mrs. Agnes Booth. Marion County Superin tendent of Schools addressed the sturlents of Mt. Angel Women's College at an informal meeting in the college home room on Thurs day morning. May 15. Public relations and the public school teacher were the themes of the talk, which was followed by a discussion of practical problems concerning community relations and the role of the county of ficials in the solution of individual cases. VtJ v Church Picnic Plans Laid by Hubbard Unit Statesman Newi Service HUBBARD - Mrs. Russell Rol lofson was hostess for an all-day meeting of the Hubbard Ladies Aid of the Community church, Wednesday. A no-host dinner at noon was followed by a business meeting conducted by Mrs. R. C. Mains, president. Devotionals were led by Mrs. George Leffler on a Mother's Day theme. Included with readine of the minutes was a report on the evening's activi ties. Committte reports were made. Plans for a church picnic were made with Sunday June 15, as a tentative date, to be held at the Harry Schei home. Mrs. Mains re ported on the Women's Fellow ship meeting at Corvallis.
