CHICAGO (JP)-A heavy barrage
of selling sent corn tumbling to
new lows for the year and longer,
unsettling the rest of the market
on the Board of Trade Wednesday.
Wheat closed 1 to 2 cents low
er, corn 2V4-3 lower, oats -IV
lower, rye ltt-2Vt lower, soy
beans -l4 lower and lard 8 to
22 cents a hundred pounds lower.
Prime factor in the corn drop
was the belief, confirmed after the
market's close, that deliveries of
cash grain on May contracts would
be heavy. Thursday is the first day
for such delivery. The clearing
house reported 2,065,000 bushels of
corn would be delivered.
