Stock Market
Prices Slip
NEW YORK (JP) - Prices slipped
fractions to around a point Mon
day as the stock market had its
slowest full session in almost three
weeks.
Railroad stocks got away to a
ood start with some fair advances
and it looked for a time as though
they might pull the market ahead
a bit.
But the carriers succumbed
shortly after the opening and the
decline became general.
Volume for the day was 980,000
shares.
The Associated Press average of
60 stocks dropped 30 cents at
(101.10.
The industrial average and the
rails were down 40 cents each and
utilities remained unchanged.
Hot stars like the sun are be
lieved to maintain their heat by
the conversion of hydrogen into
helium, the same process that may
someday be used in a hydrogen
bomb.

And the lard deliveries were
not able to get back to the plus
side despite a late rally which car
ried them to their best prices for
the day.
Wheat closed 1 to 1 higher,
corn lower to 1 lower to 1
higher, oats - higher, rye 1
