They are Clare Johnson, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl John son, Woodburn route 2, and Dar lene Klenczynski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kleczynski of Gervaise route 1. These two seniors have been active in the Pep Club and dra matics and have attended theMuU four years at this high school. Free Party Saturday for Hts. Children Statesman Newt ferric SALEM HEIGHTS All young people in the Salem Heights-Liberty area are invited to a free party at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sa lem Heights Community Hall, the sponsoring Good Shepherd Lu theran Church reported Thurs day. The program is primarily for the Church School of Good Shep herd Church (located on Highway 89-E) as a reward for recent gains in attendance, and all mem bers have been asked to bring guests. The tentative program includes motion pictures, a ventriloquist, musical numbers, stunts and other entertainment. Pastor Harold Hamilton also will show motion pictures of Camp Colton. The class of 1952 comprises 16 girls and 15 boys who will re ceive their diplomas at the high school auditorium. Karl Kahle, principal of Sherwood High School and former principal of Gervais Union High School, will be the speaker. Baccalaureate sermon will be held at the high school auditor ium Sunday, May 18, at 8 pjn. The speaker will be announced later. Volley Obituaries lUfcimaa Nwi rrte Francis J. Henson SILVERTON Francis J. Hen son, 96, a Silverton resident for 35 years, died Tuesday at a Sa lem rest home following a brief illness. He was born in Kansas, March 26, 1856. He was a mem ber of the First Christian Church here. Surviving are the widow. Rose; six stepchildren, Don Peterson and Mrs. Grace Cooke of Mill City, Walter Peterson, Eugene, Mrs. Myrtle Leixell, Mrs. Jessie Frederickson and Mrs. Florence Frederickson, all In Minnesota. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elman chapel here with the Rev. Arthur C. Bates officiating. Interment will be in Miller Cemetery. The club-sponsored smorgas bord last week netted over $320, and the final fund raising event of the year will be a play "Grand ma Goes to Hollywood" which will be presented at 8 p. m. Dayten The Dayton Union High School juniors will entertain the seniors at the annual banquet and prom Friday night in the gymna ium. Dean Schmiti Is the Junior class president and Harold Lewis is the faculty advisor. Mothers of the junior class will prepare the banquet and sophomores and freshmen will serve. Brooks Mr. and Mrs. Chris Ot to have returned home from Cop alia Crossing, Kash., where they visited Mrs. Otto's two sisters. Cloverdale Karleen Clausen and her mother, Mrs. A. S. Drager, will leave Friday for Berkeley, Calif., to meet Karleen's husband, Robert, who has been attending a claims adjusters school. Brooks Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ricketts of Babbitt, Nev., have guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Otto the past week. Four Corners Barbara Jean Force, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeBaron Force, has been dismiss ed from a Salem hospital where she underwent bone surgery on her left knee. Jefferson Mrs. N. H. Jones is a guest of Miss Addie Libby and Miss Edith Libby at the latter's home. She arrived last week from Medford where she had been op erating a dress shop. Mrs. Jones has sold her shop and plans to re turn to Salem, her home for many years. Hazel Green Mrs. Andrew Za hare was chosen chairman of Haz el Green extension unit at the last meeting of the year at the home of Mrs. Paul Camp Tuesday. Other officers are Mrs. Clarence Zeilin ski, vice chairman, and Mrs. F. O. Johnson, secretary. The Hazel Green Unit is sponsoring a half scholarship to 4-H Summer School at Corvallis. Mann, chairman of the Red Cross drive here, turned in a final report show ing $467 collected in this area. West Stayton Mrs. Gertrude Hennies of Turner, who taught at the school here six years ago, will return next fall as the third-fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Lora Rand, school clerk, reports. West Stayton Jim Doran, son of Mrs. Marcia Dora, will report to Ft. Lewis, Wash., on May 12 for duty with the armed forces. Prospect Prospect community will hold a covered-dish dinner at 7 p.m. Friday at the school. The extension unit is in charge of the program which will include mo vies, music and tap dancing.
