Give Up 2 Meals
Lepers at Teleo, Africa, went
without breakfast and dinner for
a day to send $15 to the fund for
rebuilding Methodist churches in
the Kansas flood area, according
to Dr. B. P. Murphy of Louisville,
Ky., executive secretary, division
of home missions and church ex

report on the church-wide re

The appeal has yielded $198,
188.16 to supplement $80,000 raised
within the stricken section by the
Kansas-Nebraska area fund. It
will help replace certain personal
losses of pastors and replace prop
erty. The summer floods caused
property damage in excess of
$300,000 and "untold personal loss
to our pastors and church mem
bers." The board furnished emer

Bishop Dana Dawson, of the
Kansas area, says that discourage
ment was deeD after an inspection
of the 58 damaged church proper
ties and the estimate of hundreds
of thousands of dollars needed to
restore them, but that the church's
response gave new heart to the
victims and they are rebuilding.
