Adjustment
Period Needed
PITTSBURGH (JP) A pretty
exchange student from the free
University of Berlin and now a
doctoral candidate at Carnegie
Tech says German youths have not
had time to adjust themselves
from war to peace and then to re
armament. Blue-eyed Irene V. Reitzenstin
thinks some of the confusion In
the minds of German youth could
be alleviated if the university
could afford more cultural pro
grams. This would give the stu
dents the spiritual strength need
ed. Many of the students, she says,
are refugees from the Soviet rone
of Berlin where no Western pa
pers are permitted and the radio
stations are policed. Most refugees
and West Germans can't afford to
go to school.

NUTRIENTS
HARRISBURG, Pa. (INS)- It's
wise to count your pennies while
buying food these days, but don't
lose count of the nutrients in your
food. This advice comes from the
head nutritionist of the Pennsyl
vania State Health Department,
Anna De Planter Bowes. Mrs.
Bowes says skimping on food leads
to three big deficiencies the
lack of leafy and yellow vege
tables, lack of the animal protein
found mostly in meat, and the
lack of vitamin C.
