Hope for Steel Peace Boosts Stock Prices NEW YORK CffV-A belief In Wail Street that the steel dispute is headed toward a settlement spread optimism through the stock market Thursday and helped boost prices all around. , Rails and motors provided the early spark for an advance, and steels joined in later in the session to send the market ahead for the best showing in a little more than two weeks. The Associated Press- average of GO stocks advanced 50 cents at $101.20. It was the- best forward thrust since March 4 when the average was around the lowest levels of the year. At $101.20 the average stands only SO cents un der the 21-year peak attained late in January. Business expanded to 1,240,000 shares as compared with 1,090,000 shares traded Wednesday.
