of sheriffs reserves, helping mem
bers form a pistol team. Doug
Bradley and Leonard Meyers were

Much building is going on in
the Oakdale addition on the Jefferson-Talbot
road, opened in the
past vear by Frank Weddle. Be
sides a sawmill operated by 'Wed
dle and Holland Dirnmick, several
houses are going up. Two houses
from Camp Adair were brought in
Tuesdav. shipped down the river
from Albany on a barge and un
loaded at the Buena Vista ferry
slip. One of the hbuses was for
Weddle and Dirnmick and one
was for Wallace Wickett. The for
mer will bring in two more of the
Camp Adair houses.

merce has called another hearing
on the proposed Jefferson can

S. D.. and Miss Charlott Filer,
Dayton, and a sister, Mrs. Hattie

palsy, practices on an auditory training unit under the guidance of

Oregon Society for Crippled Children and Adults. Inc., which is cur

5. and Boy Scout Troop 5, at the
semi-annual inspection by Jonn-
me Klapp and Dave t. Jonn at
Hazel Green schoolhouse Monday
evening. Considerations for the
awards were advancements by
members of the pack and troop,
camping by the troop and perfec
tion of uniforms.
Star awards were given to Clif
ford Wacken. Leo Hawley and
Jerry Carter in a court of honor
which was combined with the in
spection. John Fitts got his first
class badge and Lonnie Page, Bill
Lowery and Alvin Zeilinski were
taken into the troop in the Ten
derfoot rank. Merit badges Tere
given to Tom Haury. Clifford
Wacken, Jerry Carter, Leo Haw
ley and John Fitts.

they cast ballots at the May 16
election to determine the advisa
bility of setting aside $10,000 of
th rnnnev annrorriated for the
recreation and park board fund
to provide payment lor installing
lights at Legion Park.
It was pointed out that this
would mean no raise in taxes for
any taxpayer but is merely direct
ing the park boarfl to use, or not
to use, that amount of money for
the lighting project.
The Woodburn School Board
has agreed to use the field for at
least a five-year period on a ren
tal basis providing lights are in
stalled. The amount of rental
would be worked out between the
school board and the city, owners
of the ball park.
