Friday and Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm. 427 Ferry Street. . Grocery Store Defendant in Damage Suit Suit for $13,186 was filed Thurs day by Mrs. Helen T. Mitchell, 572 N. Winter St., against Ben Higa shi, Ray Atchison and Paul J. Woodroffe of the Saving Center, 3390 Portland Rd. The complaint seeks restitution lor damages allegedly incurred when Mrs. Mitchell slipped in the entranceway to the store Oct. 26, 1950. The complaint states that there was water and vegetable matter on the floor of the en tranceway causing it to be slip pery. Mrs. Mitchell alleges she suffer ed, as a result of this fall, a severe straining of the muscles of her left leg, her left hip, her left arm and her back. LOGGING CONCERN FILES The assumed business name of Ruef and Ditter, a logging and sawmilling concern in Sublimity, was filed Thursday with the Marion County clerk by Clarence Ruef and Wilfred Ditter, both of Sublimity. New Secretary Hired by State Prison Warden Employment of Claire Schu r, 27, as secretary to Penitentiary Warden Virgil O'Malley, was an nounced Thursday. She succeeds Mrs. J. C. Close, who has resigned effective Friday, following her marriage to her con vict husband. The new secretary also is from California where she was em ployed in the prison system for several years. Mrs. Close also was connected with the California prison system when she came to Salem last November. Mrs. Close reiterated Thursday she has made no plans for the future but probably will remain in Oregon. Both Mrs. Close and the new secretary were on duty at the prison Thursday.
