Sales Tumble
Stock Market
NEW YORK (JP) Another se
vere selling wave swept through
the stock market Wednesday beat
ing down prices along a range ex
tending to between 3 and 4 points
at the outside.
It was the second straight ses
sion in which prices toppled un
der the pressure of widespread
selling.
The cause for the break was the
same as Tuesday in general out
line a deep-rooted feearishness
topped by an excuse for selling.
i Tuesday the generally ascribed
reason for the immediate fall was
brighter prospects for a truce in
Korea.
The volume expanded Wednes
day rapidly to 1,970,000 shares,
greatest since Dec. 7.
