But they're certainly "second nignters." Three times this basketball sea Son the Huskies have lost and three times they've come back to win decisively the second night. They did it again Saturday night. After dropping the opening tilt to Washington State's Cougars at Pullman Friday night by six points at 56 to 50, the Huskies came roar ing back Saturday night to win, 67 to 43. Washington'- earlier losses this season occurred on the first night of a two-game series. The Huskies blew the first tilt to Utah, then came back to whack the Utes. Against, Idaho in Seattle a few weeks ago it was the same story lose the first one, then wallop the foe in the finale. Saturday night's victory pushed Washington a full game into the Northern Division Pacific Coast Conference lead over second-place Idaho. Ears Beat Vandals The Vandals, idle in league play, took on Gonzaga in a non -conference fray and got taken. Gonzaga edged the Vandals, 59 to 58 to make it two out of three in their series. Non-conference play also was disappointing to the Oregon Ducks. Oregon managed to beat St Mary's handily Friday night at Eugene. But Saturday night the Gaels came back to whip the Ducks, 51 to 45. It was the first time in history the Gaels ever have beaten Oregon hoopsters. ATI Northern Division teams will see action this Friday and Satur day. Washington travels to Oregon, a team it has beaten twice this season by large margins. Washington State and Idaho meet in a home- and - home series. The two teams split an earlier two game stand. This is the most favorable situ ation since 1938, Haulot said. Com pared with 1950, the figures indi cate a rise of 46 per cent for for eign tourist trade, and 36 per cent for Belgian travelers, during the months of June to Septmember.
