Summer St Miss Baltimore Wed Recently WXLLAMTNA At a candle light ceremony Saturday evening, Dec. 22 at 8 p. m. at the Church of Christ, jtfiss LaVelle Baltimore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Baltimore of Willamina, became the bride of Richard Lee Hofri en ter, son of Mrs. William Plnniger of Olympia, Wash. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Leo Woodruff. Miss Susie Johnston played the wedding music, and accompanied Clifton Huddles ton of Salem, when he sang. Miss Judy Shetterly and Miss Joyce Huddleston in lavender ballerina gowns lighted the tapers. The bride was given in marriage by her father, and wore a ballerina length gown of white French chan- tllly lace over satin, fashioned with a scalloped neckline, long sleeves. Peter Pan collar, and a full gath ered skirt. Her fingertip veil was held in place with a cap of lace and seed pearls. Her bouquet was of white chrysanthemums and ste phanotis, centered with a white orchid with a yellow throat. Mrs. Arnold Huntley of Seaside was matron of honor and wore a green taffeta ballerina gown with a bouquet of multi-colored chry santhemums. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Howard Lindbeck of Eugene and Miss Yvonne Hubbard of Newberg, in yellow taffeta bal lerina length gowns. They carried bouquets similar to the matron of honor s, tied with yellow ribbon Lynette Kluth was flower girl. Howard Lindbeck of Eugene was best man and ushers were Dudley Roberts of Willamina and Bob Shetterly of Eugene. A reception was held in the Church basement. Mrs. John Cage, aunt of the bride, cut the cake, as sisted by Mrs. Victor Emmons Mrs. Frank Smelser poured the coffee, Mrs. Leo Woodruff was in charge of the punch bowL Mrs Gail Burke of Dallas and Mrs. Chet Canby had charge of the gifts, Mrs. Robert Buswell of Am ity passed the guest book, Joyce Huddleston and Judy Shetterly passed the groom s cake, and as sisting were Mrs. Jess Myers, Mrs W. B. Matthews, Miss Nina Men- denhall and Mrs. Shirley Menden hall For her daughter's wedding, Mrs Baltimore wore a two piece navy blue dress with black accessories and an orchid corsage. Mrs. Pin niger chose a green suit with black accessories, and an orchid corsage The couple graduated from the Willamina High School and both attended Linfield College. The bride is employed in the office of the Associated Plywood ICQf, and the groom la in -the u. s. Army. Following a short wedding trip, the groom returned Dec. zs to Camp Carson, Colo. The bride will make her home in Willamina with her parents. Wedding Takes Placoin South From the South comes newt of the marriage of Mrs. Gladys Chris tensen of Salem to William Loftus of Los Angeles, which was quiet ly solemnized on Saturday, Dec. 29 In St. Helena, Calif, at 3 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Land, Sa lem, brother-in-law and sister of the bride, went south for the nup tials. The couple win reside in Los Angeles. New Shrine Instituted Mrs. Miller B. Hayden was In Seattle last week to take part in ceremonies instituting a new Shrine of White Shrine of Jeru salem, to be known as Madonna Shrine, UD. Mrs. Hayden, a mem ber of the Supreme Committee cf Credentials, acted as Supreme Chaplain. Also in Seattle for the instituting was John Petti of Los Angeles, the Supreme Watchman. Engagement Of Interest Salem friends are interested to hear! of the .engagement of Miss Jean t Keith of . South Pasadena, Calif, to Robert R. Boardmaa Jr., of Salem. No date has been set for the wedding. Miss Keith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Keith of Ap plegate. Ore. She attended teach ers college in San Francisco and is now doing religious work in Pasadena. Mr. Boardman is the son of Mrs. Robert R. Boardman of Salem and the late Mr. Boardman. He was in the marine corps during World War II and attended Ore gon State College. On Sunday Mr. Boardman left San Francisco for Japan to be with; the Navigators in religious work with men in service. Mrs. Phillip Allison, chairman' of the Marion County Red Cross Motor Corps, has Invited members of the corps to her Fairmount Hill home this afternoon for coffee at S o'clock.
