Put sliced fruit in 8 -quart ketdc Add the water and lemon juice. Bring to a quick boil, boil gendy for 1 hour (uncovered). If peel is not tender in 1 hour, boil uotii tender. I Measure the cooked material. Due to boiling, the volume will be re duced. Add water to make total peel . and juke exectly 7 level cups. Put back in kettle. Stir in M-CP. Pectin; continue stirring and bring to a full boiL Add sugar (previously measured). Sir gendy until it has reached a full rolling boil, and BOIL EXACTLY 4 MINUTES. Remove from fire; skim and stir by turns for 5 minutes. Pour into jars. If you use pint or '.quart jars, seal hot and invert jars on lids until Marmalade begins to set. Ward, Mrs. Grace Wilson, Frank Hale and Ruth Ann Burke. et Dinner and Mass Feto Goldonwods Celebrating their golden wed ding anniversary on November 26 were Mr. and Mrs. Adam A. Lefor, 372 North Winter street. The mar riage of the couple toook place in western North Dakota in 1901. They were regarded as one of the pioneer families of the area and organized the community of Lefor, North Dakota. They moved to Salem in 1945. Mr. Lefor was active in business and political circles, having served for six years as commissioner of banks for North Dakota. Renewal of the vows for the couple took place in St. Joseph's Catholic church here at a solemn high mass with the Rev. Joseph Vanderbeck officiating, assisted by the Rev. John O'Callahan and the Rev. Armond J. Gellinas. The couple's daughter, Mrs. A. J. (Bertha) Becker sang at the mass, and four sons of the couple as sisted in serving the mass. Wayne Meusey was at the organ. Reception Fellows Mass Following the mass, a reception and banquet were held at the Marion hotel. In the group of relatives were the Lefors' daughter, Mrs. A. J. Becker. Mrs. Katherine Schaffer, mother of Mrs. Lefor, who came with her sons, Andrew Schaffer and Carl Schaffer, from Washing ton; Mrs. Lefor's brother, Thomas Lefor, and Mrs. Katherine Rasch ko (mother of Mrs. M. J. Rasch ko), Lefor, N. D. Also present were many other relatives and friends from Salem and vicinity. Fear Corners A first child, Tamara Jean, was born November 29 at the Salem General hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brown (Mar jorie Bacon). The little girl weighed eight pounds, ten ounces. The grandparents are the Rev. and Mrs. Oliver Bacon, Salem, Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Brown, Alhambra, Calif., and great-grandparents are the Rev. and Mrs. George Bacon, Brooks, and Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Mrs. Jack Bartlett, Brooks, will demonstrate Christmas greens. Miss June Rowland, with a con certine, will lead Christmas carols. Lyons Mrs. Alice Huber hon ored her - daughter-in-law, Mrs. Donald Huber, on her birthday with a party at her home Satur day afternoon.
