Henry J. O'Reilly, who has been superin tendent of The Dalles experiment station for the past AM years has been aozwinted as second plant pathology specialist on the college extension staff. O'Reilly established the exper imental area at The Dalles and did considerable work on Western-X disease in peaches and in diseases In cherries. Both are virus diseases which are serious in the area. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Canada, O'Reilly receiv ed his master's degree rom Mc Gill university, Montreal, in 1944. He has done an additional year of rraduate work at Cornell univer sity and has taken work at Ore gon State college in plant pauioi ogy and horticulture. F. I Ballard, associate director of extension service, who announc ed O'Reilly's appointment, said O' Reilly would work primarily with tree fruit growers. Storm Flags Raised Over Great Lakes By the Associated Press Storm warnings went up on all the Great Lakes except Ontario Sunday as wind and rain swept cross the nation from the Mississ ippi valley to the North Atlantic states and eastern seaboara. In New York continuing rains forced postponement of the fourth game of the world series.
