(Statesman photo.) Merchants Get Answers on Price Controls Salem "soft goods" merchants jammed into a Senator hotel room Tuesday morning to get answers on price controls.! The meeting was concerned particularly with new federal regulations on price markups! for such merchandise. Robert Greene of the Portland division of the office of price sta bilization explained the rules, the worksheets and the charts to near ly 150 persons,- at a meeting 50 had been expected to attend. The crowd kept him occupied with questions, especially with those pertaining to the exceptions and the i special cases not covered by the law. .
