SO CI ETY - CLUBS Occupational Party for Club Members of the Soroptimist club were entertained with an "Oc cupational Party" at the home of Mrs. Leo Johnson on Riverside Drive Wednesday night. Co-hostesses were Mrs. Donald Reinke, Mrs. Alex Jones, Mrs-Laura P an gle and Mrs. Marie Ling. A prize was presented Mrs. Earl Moo try for the best costume de picting her occupation. Mrs. John Beakey was presented a prize for the most humorous costume. Musical selections were furn ished by members of the club, Mrs. Therese Hanks and Miss Mary Brady. OSEA Chapters Hold Meetings Over a hundred members and guests of Willamette chapter 21, Oregon State Employees associa tion (public utilities commission) attended a covered dish dinner, program and carnival at the Izaak Walton clubhouse Wednesday ""night. John Kelley, new president of the chapter, presided at a short business session. Other new of ficers are Wayne Straw, vice pres ident: Miss Jane Trojan, secretary: and Mrs. Mabel McGee, treasurer. The entertainment for the eve ning included solos ;bv Vern Esch of the unemployment compensa tion commission, accordian and vocal numbers by Al Finn of the Industrial accident commission, and Samoan dances by Miss Julia McKinney of the public utilities commission. Special guests were Forrest Stewart, executive secretary of the OES, Robert Ashby, president of the state association of OSEA, Mrs. Ashby, and Robev Ratcliff, district director of OSEA. First meeting of the new year for Canital chapter, 19, Oregor State Employees association was held Tuesday night at the Salem Woman's club. New members are Mrs. Mariorie Domoealla and Marjorie Williams. A movie, "Tale of the Redwoods." was hown. Robert Dryer, president, an nounced his committee appoint ments. Preliminary recommenda tions for presentation to the gen eral council were discussed. The group also recommended general approval of continuance of civil service. Alumnae Feted At Ashby's Kappa Delta alumnae were en tertained Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. William Ashby at the Oak Knoll golf course. The meeting wall be held in Woodburn Sunday, January 21 in the American Legion hall from 2 to 5 p. m. Registration will begin at one o'clock with twenty-five units to be represented. There will be a joint opening meeting of the American Legion and auxiliary when Commander Clyde Dickey of Portland and Mrs. Stanley Krueger of The Dalles, heads of the Department of Ore gon, wiil speak. A no-host dinner will be served at 6 p. m. by auxi liary members of the Woodburn unit. Mrs. W. O. Green of Aurora is unit president and will bring greetings. Boening presided at the meet ing. .Mrs. Ray Smith, finance chairman, reported that the sale of aprons and candy in December had netted the club $52. The group voted to send $20 to the Azalea House fund. Women's auxiliary of St Paul's Episcopal church will meet at the parish house this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and the guest speak er will be Mrs. Paul Moser of New York City, a member of the na tional board of foreign missions of the Presbyterian church. Wacken, became the bride of Lawrence Edward Baer. The Rev. George H. Swift offi ciated and soloist was Mrs. Ken neth Corrigan. For her wedding the bride chose a white imported French lace gown fashioned with scalloped skirt ending in a short train. She wore white lace gloves and her mother's fineertin veil of illusion. which cascaded from a Dutch cap. on carriea a Douquet of Cecile orunner roses centered with an orchid. Miss Lois Wacken was her sis ter's honor attendant and wore a gown of lime green satin and carried green tipped carnations with an arrangement of the flow ers in her hair. Bridesmaids were Miss Ruth Pauline Fugate and Miss Joyce Siegen thaler, who wore green satfn ballerina frocks with matching ballet slippers. Their bouquets were of white car nations.
