Masonic Lodge Will -Observe Centennial Year at Installation of Officers Dec. 27 Salem Masoniclodge 4, AF & AM, will observe its centennial Wednesday, December 27, at 8 p.m.. by installing officers for the 100th time. - , , . The ceremony at the Masonic temple will also include installa tion of new officers of Ainsworth lodge 201, Salem's youngest lodge, which was organized in 1945. Salem lodge 4 held its first re corded meeting Nov. 28, 1851. The first Installation of officers was on June 24th, -1852, when Berry man Jennings, first Oregon Ma sonic grand master, conducted the rites. ..'"" Wednesday's meetiiig will In clude the display of -the original lodge charter issued June 14, 1852, which was presented on June 24 of that year. It will observe the anniversary of the festival of St John the Evangelist, also observ ed during the lodge's first instal lation. Roy W. McNeal will ad dress the assembly on the subject. Worth Harvey, Eugene, Oregon grand master, and McNeal, senior Knd deacon of Oregon from Ash i, will be present for the event. Walter C Winslow, Salem, past grand master, will be installing marshal. Installation Set at Amity January 9 Statesman Hews Service AMITY Amity's Mayor elect Earl Johnson and other 1951 officers will take over their duties January 9 at 8 p. m. during the year's first coun cil meeting. Amity's two Cub Scount dens held their Christmas party at the school gymnasium Friday. John Stuller, leader, and Mrs. George Turner and Mrs. Fred Ehlers, den mothers were in charge. The boys had a gift ex change and received treats. Sam Oja, Linfield college stu dent from Nigeria, is a guest at the Bruce Wakeman home for his Christmas vacation and joined the Wakemans at the Wendell Martin home for Christmas dinner.
