Another Salem grad. Quarter back Roger Dasch, had a huge eve ning at LaGrande by completing 18 of 28 passes for 251 yards and one touchdown. McArthur has had fine things to say of Dasch's abil ity au season. Robin Lee and Jim Ortlief have been the bulwarks of the OCE ground attack all season. For his seven "games to date Ortlief has carried the ball an even 100 times for 890 yards and a 9.9 average He has scored nine touchdowns also. Against Eastern Oregon Ort lief lugged the leather 16 times for 264 yards, an enormous 16.3 ave rage, and tallied three times. The Wolves have dropped only two games this season, a 27-12 nod to Lewis & Clark and a 12-7 decis ion to Pacific U. The team has improved greatly since then and is a heavy favorite to win the Oregon conference title. The Vanport game of next Saturday will wind up the OCE season. Nov. 7-(Special)-A combination of four lettermen and one sophomore may face Canisius on December 2 in Buffalo when Oregon State launches its 1950-51 basketball season. At least, this is the unit that Coach Slats GUI has been using in practice sessions re cently. The letterman veterans include Bob Payne and Jim Padgett, for wards: and Dan Torrey and Bill Harper, guards. Lone sophomore in the first five at present is Bob Edwards, 6-6 ex-all-state center from Corvallis high. Edwards played freshman ball two years ago but was held out of competi tion last season.
