New Blue Bird Group Formed East of Salem I SUtesauui Newt Serrlce FOUR CORNERS A new Blue Bird : group was organized this week in Four Corners at the Clar ence - Swenson home with Mrs. Thomas Dench as leader and Mrs. Swenson as assistant. Mrs. Donald Judson is sponsor. ' - The . group adopted the name Blue Feathers." Judy Warren .was chosen chairman. Other new members include its Ch artier, Dianna Judson, Barbara Blalsdell, Alice Dench, 1 Heard, Janet Hagar, Judy swenson, Joyce Kiigore, uaroi luck, and Marilyn Arthur. The rlub will meet each Thursday at the Swenson home. 155 Mabel ave. Three Sons Serve In Armed Forces News Service . HUBBARD Three sons of Mr. 'and Mrs. Lee Bowers of Hubbard soon will be serving in the armed forces. - Dale left this week for Ft Ord, Calif., where he will be stationed with the army. Another son. Jack, leaves this week for the service and third son, Donald, has been in the army for more than a year and has served In Korea since July. State Psychiatrist To Speak Monday At Huhbard PTA SUtetBua News Service HUBBARD A movie, "The Feeling of Rejection," will be shown at the Hubbard PTA meet ing at 8 pjn. Monday in the gym nasium and will be explained by a psychiatrist from the state de partment of education. Other speakers will Include Manton ' CarL chairman of the school board who will explain the basic school fund measure, and a representative from Wood Dura Boys school. Recreation Group To Help Silverton Police in Gubwork , Statesmu News Service SILVERTON Men from each organization affiliated with the Silverton Recreation association will be asked to assist the Silver ton police in operation of the ath letic club. It was believed each organization could furnish as sistance for a month during the season. This club was started bv the local police, headed by Chief Vic tor urossnickle to provide "some thing to do" for youths who have no place to go for recreation. Another winter project of the recreation association is the square dance club. James Nelson, presi dent of the recreation group, re ported that equipment has been purchased and sessions , in the square dance organization will get unaerway shortly. The first meeting of the associa tion this week attracted 18 mem bers, representing various local organizations.
