Grass Fires Damage Bees At Wifiamina- Statesman News Service WTT.T.AMTMA Willamma fire men had a- busy day Saturday, with three lire calls. The first one occurred about 1 p.rrL, when they were called to a farm near the Coastal Lumber Co. in Grand Ron de, which was a grass fire. By the time they arrived there, the grass fire had been extinguished, but the fire had spread to several bee houses. The firemen reported that the bees swarmed all over them, but .were too dopey from the smoke to sting them. The second call was about 3 p. m, and was a fire behind Garra brant's mill here in town. The third fire was about 4 pjn, and was a grass fire on the hill behind the grade school Firemen have urged city.-real-, dents to turn off their sprinklers when the fire - siren sounds; so more water pressure may be -built up at the reservoir. The siren will sound when the fire is over so that the sprinklers may. be turned on again.
