Others soon to move into new- ly built homes on Boice street are Dr. and Mrs. Charles Gray and Dr. and Mrs. Maynard Sniffer. Under construction . . . the Ur lin Paces have started their hew home high upon Fairmount Hill on West Lincoln between the T: A. Livesley and Bruce Spudding homes . . . The Donald Mccar rars will move next month to the Ray Waltz home on the corner of Fairmount and Superior, which , they, recently purchased. The Fred Van Deven ter family . . . Fred, his wife, Flor ence Reynard as she is known to the radio audience, son. Bob, and daughter, Nancy . . . The four are on a cross country tour, travel ing by train . . . Their home is in Princeton, New Jersey, and they are returning via California . , but only three days scheduled for California as for four in Oregon . . . The McCormicks accompa nied the family to Eugene. Where they broadcasted, and then up the McKenzie for an overnight stay. Abeat the Van Deventers . . . Florence, an attractive blonde, wearing a full skirted dark blue skirt with a light top . . . Bob, who will attend Duke university this fall . . . football his popular sport . . . Nancy, who will go to Mar jorie Webster Junior college in Washington, D. C- next month . . . It was Nancy who suggested the' name for the popular radio show ... Nancy and Bob havent been on the show the past year as they have been away at school... Fred has a grand personality and manages the program . . . He real ly is a newspaperman at heart and still gives a news broadcast over a New York station daily. About thirty of the McCormicks' friends bidden to greet the radio family . . . and during the lunch eon the four Van Deventers did an impromptu broadcast with Dave Hoss the interviewer . Noted ... so many of the guests cool - looking in smart white summer suits ... among them . . . the hostess, hers highlighted with black . . . Mrs. Robert Elfstrom, Mrs. Elmer Berg, Mrs. B. E. Ow ens and Mrs. Arnold Krueger... the latter accenting her outfit with a perky red straw. Cottage St Miss Peggy Aileen Burroughs 1 and Paul William Ramppanen ex changed their marriage vows at a beautiful ceremony on Saturday night at the First Congregational cmirch. Dr.-Roy Fedje performed the 8 o'clock nuptials. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Deforest Burroughs and her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pitkanen of Astoria, who were here for the wedding. Miss Marilyn Chandler was the soloist. Miss Constance Coon and Miss Ann Reynolds in white pique dresses lighted the candles. The bridal gown was of white satin and lace with a high rolled collar of satin on the lace bodif e and the satin skirt terminated in a train. Her lace edged fingertip veil was caught to a seed pearl crown. Her bouquet was of or chids and stephanotis. Mrs. Richard Givens was the matron of honor and the Misses Phyllis Mode and Janice Nichols the bridesmaids. Their full skirt ed frocks with off - shoulder style necklines were fit blue brocaded taffeta and they carried muff style bouquets of white glamelias and wore headbands of the flowers in their hair. Helen Pitkanen. in white organdy, was flower girl and Julian Burroughs was the ring bearer. Harold Oja served as best man and ushers were Charles Wirk kula, Don Nopson and James Hackett l Mrs. Burroughs wore a dusty rose silk crepe and Mrs. Romp- pan en chose a sky blue dress for the wedding. The reception followed in the fireplace room with Mrs. Irl Mc- Sherry and Mrs. Orville Nichols pouring and Mrs. Newell Williams cutting the cake. Miss Claralyn Lie assisted.
