College Stars Aivait Gassic Squad Works Secretly For Mix with Eagles CHICAGO, Aug. 7-WVThe 1950 College All-Star football squad CO strong held a secret drill in Soldier Field tonight to prepare for Friday night'a ioe, the Phila delphia Eagles. ' , I After 19 days of drill at St. John's Military academy, Dela rield, Wi&, Coach Eddie Anderson, of Holy Cross, the All-Stars' head mentor, his staff and his . squad were welcomed at a luncheon to day sponsored by the Chicago Junior Association of commerce. Cordon Soltau, Minnesota end, was the only All -Star left at Dela fteld yesterday. He received a cut on the head in Saturday's scrim mage and spent today in the hos pital, Leon Hart, giant Notre Dame end attended the luncheon, - but was favoring a bruised heel. He may play only on defense Friday. Anderson said the squad has been 'pretty successful in escap ing the, curious while drilling at St. Johrt's. t "The Eagles must be kept guess tnr on the type of defense well use," said Anderson. "So far the the best they can do Is plan an at tack against the type of defense we employed at Iowa. Let's say now we hope the Eagles do just that" i Anderson -was formerly Iowa's football coach.
