Point Homecoming picnic was held Sunday and due to the weather was held In the new school building with basket lunch served: in the dining room by Mrs. Roy Verbeck and her committee. .1 A. F. Krenz, president of the association, presided at the busi ness meeting. The welcome speech was given by Mrs. W. 'M. Tate, response by Mrs. Ben Hofstetter of Vancouver, Wash. Memorial tribute was given by Mrs. Theo dore Fisher for Mrs. Ruby Jaquet, Orlo Humphreys, Mrs. T. Y. Mc Clelland, Mrs. Zula Moser, Mrs Kstella Mulkey. Mrs. John Daven port, Lou Davenport, Will Humph reys, ueorge Boget, Mrs. Aita tia berlyj Helick Funnue and Arthur Bo wick. , The 1949 minutes were read by the secretary, Mrs. F. M. Miller. Elmer Lorence presented the fol lowing names as officers for the ensuing year: president, Mrs. V. TL Scott; vice president, Floyd Fox; I secretary, Robert Humph rey. - Arthur Mulkey, program chair ! man,! announced these numbers: accordion solo, Shirley Doerfler; piano solo, Mrs. Roy Arney, Wood burn; baton twirling, Frances Fox. Presentation of members of old Victor .Point band, Ray Charles worth, Anton Fisher, Theodore Fisher, Jacob Doerfler, J. J. Doer fler, Ed Krenz and A. N. Doer fler. The new brand under the direc tion of Mr. Roy Shelton and Vic tor Palmason, gave several selec tions. Members of the - band are Mary Linda Doerfler, Frances Fox, ; Shirley Doerfler, Ann Davenport, Etta Bell Cooper, Joan Meland, David Doerfler, Elvin Martin, Tomrfiy Savage, James Peterson, Dwight Peterson, Daniel Gilham. Gerald Darby, Morris Fischer and Bruce Meland. Mrs. J. J. Doerfler is president and IMrs. J. O. Darby, secretary of the ! band organization. Flowers wert sent to Mrs. Frank Doerfler, E. C. Mrs. Charlotte Harker of Hood River is staying at the Dallaire home until John recovers from surgery. Joseph Wright of Detroit is re covering in Salem from a minor operation performed, at Salem Me morial hospital Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Wright is staying at the Mar ion motel until Wright recovers sufficiently to return home. 1 Ray Johnson of Detroit was in Salem Tuesday, for a checkup following recent operation. .
