One very attractive method is to paint the in sides of the shelves a light, gay color, and the outside . a darker shade. To make the bookcase look like part of the kitchen decoration, trim the shelves with the same type of paper and edging you have on your regular cabinets. You can store cans, and Jars of fruits and vegetables on these shelves. A housewife I know has used a pair of these bookcases to divide a long, narrow kitchen and set up part of the space for a dinette. She has added plants and decorative pottery on the top for a gay touch. If you prefer closed cabinets, buy them low enough to use the lops for surface space. ' Instead of one tall cabinet, buy two small ones and you will find this a ' great help when you want to clear up after a large dinner party or prepare and set aside food for easy access once the ' guests arrive. . If you have a wide, but not very deep closet for your clean ing equipment in the kitchen, you can add to your space by putting In shelves that graduate , from full width to short sizes from top to bottom. This will leave plenty of space for such equipment as carpet sweeper and broom that have long handles and are bul kier at the bottom. By adding hooks to the door of the closet, you can put the small brushes, dust rags, and such small items in one place, out of the way of the other equipment The shelves can be used to store cleaning fluids, soaps and other materials. For a cheerful touch, edge the shelves in a gay border. (Copyright 190. If you are being introduced to someone whom you have met before but who shows plainly that he or she does not remember the occasion, what should you do? A. It would be best merely to say, "How do you do," and not recall the previous meeting. Q. What Is the proper way to acknowledge a wedding announce ment? A. Announcement cards need no acknowledgment, although carefully- courteous persons like to mail congratulatory cards or brief notes of good wishes to the newlyweds soon after the receipt of an announcement. Q. When one has finished dining in a restaurant or hotel dining room, what should one do with the napkinT A. Place it unfolded on the table next to the plate. Ah! So Cool and Lovely!
