PEDEE Funeral services were
held in Lebanon Thursday for Cy
ril William Harvey of Newberg.
Interment will be in the IOOF
cemetery. He was born Oct. 25,
1870, in Pennsylvania and moved
to Oregor in 1908. He lived on a
farm at Irish Bend before moving
to Newberg a few years ago. Sur
viving are his widow, Mrs. Eliza
beth Harvey; four daughters, Mrs.
Flora Reynolds, Salem, Mrs. 'Bes
sie Adams, Portland, Mrs. Frances
Harris, Lebanon, and Mrs. Ella
Dodd, Pedee; two sons, Edgar and
Willard Harvey, PortlandjStwo
step-sons, James Thomas, wills
boro, and John Thomas, Walnut

Delia Hansen
HUBBARD Delia Hansen,
resident of Hubbard for the past
3 years,: died Sunday at a Sa
lem hospital, where she had been
a patient for five days. Services
will . be Wednesday, April 5, at
2 p. m. at Ringo chapel in Wood
burn. The Rev. Mr. Hood of
Woodburn Church of God will of
ficiate, and burial will be at Hub
bard cemetery.
Mrs. Hansen was born Novem
ber 23, 1885, in Iowa, and came to
Oregon in 1946 from Peerless,
Mont. ;
Survivors are the widower, Joe
M. Hansen of Hubbard; brothers,
Hugo Hayenga of Idaho, Henry
and H2gen Hayenga of Yreka,
Calif.; sister, Mrs. J. W. Maxwell
of Portland.

MILL CITY On April 1. the
Mill j City Enterprise will launch
a subscription drive for the bene
fit of the local Boy Scouts. The
money derived from the drive plus
the aid of the local Lions club will
send some boy to the international
scout jamboree at Valley Forge,
Penn., next summer.
A recent visitor at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Dike was Mrs.
Eva ! Hopkins (Eva Raines) of
Portland. Mrs. Hopkins is a former
Mill City resident and was em
ployed at the Hammond store here
for a number of years.
Mrs. Robert L. Ash! who has
been teaching at the kindergarten;
is leaving April 1 to join her hus
band at Tacoma, Wash. Mrs. Mar
tin Jepsen has been secured as
teacher and will teach from April
3 until the closing on May 26.
Mill City Boy Scouts will start
first aid classes April 8 with Mrs,
Earl L. Cox as instructor. Mrs.
Cox f is employed at the first aid
station at Detroit damsite.

sionary to India, was honor guest
and speaker at a family reunion
held here Saturday evening at
the Pythian hall. I
Dinner was served to 65 guests
at 7 o'clock, a menu from India
was used including curried beef
over rice, curried potatoes, dal
(lentils), two kinds i bf Indian
bread, bananas and coffee. Candy
from India was also served. The
tables were simply decorated with
daffodils and iris. ;
Miss G ruber is a niece of Mrs.
Julius Stauffer of Hubbard, a reg
istered nurse, graduate bt Imman
iiel hospital, Portland.! I $he lived
in Hubbard as a child J She is a
member of ! Hinson j i Memorial
church, Portland, who sjubport her
mission to India, where she has
been for nearly nine years. Fol
lowing a year's vacation,! she will
