Europe bound on April 14 will1 be Dr. and Mrsv Waldo C; Zeller, who entrain from Portend for Washington, D.C., and New York! City, where they, wilUspend a iew days ir each city before sailing on the Queen Maty for Frahce. Thel? itinerary on the continent includes Italy, Switzerland, Gepnajny, Belgium and Hollanttb bey will gpeircHa month touring the Britis Isles and sail for the states on the QuUMi' Eliz abeth July 15. They plan to arrive in Sa lem about the first of August. Also headed for Europe I the middle of April will be Mrs. Robert L. Elfstrom and her sister, Mrs. Ida Herr. From there they will go to Montreal, from where they will sail on April 21 fot England. They will tour England, Belgium, Holland, France, Switzerland and Italy. On May 25 they will sail from Naples to Cairo arocJ from there will go directly to Addis, Abeba, Ethiopia to visit Mrs. Herr's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.1 Ben Owens. The Owens have been in Addis three years with the Sudan Mission School, engaged in radio vork. Mrs. Herr plarts to remain ' for an extended visit with the Owens, but Mrs. Elfslrbm will return after a fort night's stay. Mrs. Elfstrom will fly to Cairo unless boat passage is obtained af ter arriving. She will return to the states by ship, jarriving in Salerh the end of July. Spinster Tea ... . Important social event of Saturday af ternoon, April 22 will be the silver tea to be given ;by the Spinsters at the North Summer street home of Mrs. William Mc Gilchrist, Jr. The tea is always one of the highlights jof the spring social season and this year the proceeds will go to the; Mar ion county chapter of the National Foun . dation of Infantile Paralysis. The ; Spin sters, a philanthropic organization, pflans to raise $1,000 this year for the polio fund In Marion county, part of the money to be used by the chapter to purchase braces. Calling hours for the tea will be from 2 to 5 o'clock and Miss Margaret Lovell, vice-president of the Spinsters, has been named asj general chairman of the affair. Other committee chairmen appointed by Miss Lovell are as follows: Mrs. Roy Ed gerton, invitations; Mrs. William Shinn and Mrs. Roger M. Mrs. Waterman chooses a beige tailleur with taupe kid purse and shoes and white cloche wreathed in flowers and Mrs. Wood selects a grey dressmaker suit with white pique collar and cuffs and navy accessories. Wedding bells will ring on Saturday, April 22, for Miss Helen Zlellnski and James Crone, whose engagement and forthcoming marriage is beiftg announced this week end by the bride-elect's parents, Mr. ' and Mrs. Bliss C. Zielinski. The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Robinson of Portland. The popular couple will be married at a morning ceremony at Stl Joseph's i Catholic church at 10 o'clock With a ' reception following in the afternoon at tha American Legion club.' The bride-elect is a graduate of Salem .schools and Oregon Stale college. She is a mem ber of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and the Spinsters. She is employed at the . Physicians building. Mr. Crone is a graduate of Salem high school and is now attending Portland Uni versity where he is & junior. He served in the navy during the war. Although she hasn t been painting recently, she hopes to get her oils out again this spring; now tiat they have moved to the country. On today's calendar is the at home for which Dr. and Mrs. Burtoji A. Myer will be hosts at their Eola country place, "Teiface Farm." The affair will honor Dr. Myer's brother anjS sjster-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. Roy Myers, who are yikiting here from Madison, Wisconsin. A large group of friends have been bidden by the hosts to call during the afternoon and evening to meet the visi tors, who will be here a fortnight. They have been travel ing through the southern states and in California visited in LaJolla and, Carmel. Invitations are in the mail to an informal tea for which Mrs. Brazier Small and her daughter. Miss Suzanne Small, will be hostesses on Saturday, April 8 at their Monlingside residence. The tea is being arranged in compliment to Miss Jane-Carson, popular bride-elejct of James Brice Shaw, of Aberdeen, Wash. Calling hours are from 3 to 5 o'clock, r ! : ' A Surprise Party Mrs. William J. Busick was honored at a surprise party on her birthday Saturday night when Mr. and Mrs. G. Frederick Chambers, Mr. and Mrs. George Croisan and Miss Dorathea Steusloff entertained at the Chambers home on North 13 Ui street. Guests were bidden to a buffet dinner and arrange ments of spring flowers provided the decorative note. After the dinner Dr. Button Myers showed pictures of bis recent trip to Mexico City. Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. William J. Busick, Dr. and Mrs. Burton Myers, Mr. and Mrs. A. Roy Myers of Madison, Wis, Judge and Mrs. E. M. Page, Mr. and Mrs. William L. Phillips, Mrs. Harry U.
