Feb. 18 iPostmast crs at Dallas and Rickreall re ceived orders recently from the post office department that Rick reall route 1 will be discontinued and transferred to Dallas route 3. The change, effective . March 1, will bring about considerable witching in rural delivery ser vice but only slightly effect the people served. . r- Patrons receiving mail through the Rickreall office do not need to change ! their addresses, but may do so if they wish. It will be to the advantage of the families living from the Jap Ellis, Clow and Gwinn Corners to Rickreall' to change their addresses' according to Carl Black, Dallas postmaster, for this area will be served be "iore the carrier reaches Rickreall. Ahgel Idanha Scout Troop Observes Scout Week ; Statcmnaa News Service IDANHA About 55 Boy Scouts, their parents and commit teemen met in the basement of the Detroit high school Wednes day evening 'for a no-host dinner in honor of Boy Scout week. The boys entertained with a short pro gram and Scoutmaster Don Strig gow explained the spring and summer schedule for the boys. A pup tent was presented to the Flaming Arrow patrol for winning the rag collecting contest with 77 pounds of rags. The Black, Bear patrol was second with 62 pounds. McCauley. Corsages and friendship candles were presented in a closing cere mony. The next meeting will be the annual family no-host dinner at the Mayflower hall March 10. Guests were Mrs. Harry Clem ents, Sears port, Maine; Mrs. Rog er Moore, Redlands, Calif., and Mrs. Emmett Blackman. - SurprlstiFire Drill Staged At Aumsville Statesman New Service AUMSVILLE The Aumsville Fire Chief Omar Bud Roberts, jr., held a surprise fire drill at the Aumsville school Friday morning, February 10. It took one minute and 45 seconds to empty the school buildings and get the fire fighting trucks at the school in action. Mrs. Charlie Wright, PTA pre sident, announces the regular Feb ruary meeting Monday night, Feb ruary 20, will have a program presented by the high school girls physical education class featuring square and round dances. Mrs. Mary Seim is the girls physical education teacher. The meeting place for the Aums ville Women's club. February 17, has been moved from the Ivan Putnam home in Aumsville to the home of Mrs. Mary Hein, North Capital street, Salem, with Mrs. Mae Lamb as co-hostess. The business meeting was conducted by the club presi dent, Jerry Wipper. Plans for the year were discussed at length, centering on the several shows. A report was. given about a spring fat lamb show which will be held in The Dalles. The Turner fat lamb show will be held this rear on Saturday, June 3. Thursday after noon, with Miss Laura Judy, the president in charge. Mrs. William B. Chandler, Hillsboro, president of the Ore gon Federation of Women's clubs was guest speaker, Mrs. L. R. Al derman. Dayton, president of Yamhill County Federation of Women's clubs was also a special guest of the afternoon. A p re-school clinic was an nounced for February 23, spon sored by the Amity club at the grade school ' from 9 to 12 a.m. Five dollars was voted for the Red Cross drive. The different club de partments reported. The Amity Council of church women made plans for the World Way of Prayer program, February 24, " at 2 p.m., in the Church of Christ.
