Hoover Report To Be Subject The Salem Lea rue of Women Voters will hear F. H. Young of the Oregon tax and research bu reau speak at the meeting to be held at Collins hall on the Willa mette university campus Wednes day night at 8 o'clock. All men and -women interested are invited to attend. - Young, who has chosen the sub ject of The Hoover Report as a guide to government economy, is graduate of University of Ore- on and a veteran of World War . He established the first Oregon statewide tax association and has been secretary and manager ever since. Though he has attended 13 sessions of the state legislature in reportorial capacity. W. Sund- sten of Bridal Veil, Oregon, on Sat urday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The Rev. Fual performed the ceremony before a setting of acacia and blue iris. Miss Nancy Kir kpa trick was the soloist and Miss Carolyn Cra mer the pianist Lighting the ta pers were Mrs. J. H. Yoakum and Mrs. James Peterson. Richard Domes gave his sister in marriage. Of white marquisette over satin was the bridal gown. fashioned with a full skirt and train. The bodice was designed with a shirred bertha edged in lace and the sleeves were long. Her illusion veil was fingertip length and caught to a crown. She carried white carnations centered with a white orchid. Mrs. Andy Landforce was her cousin's only attendant and wore an aqua brocaded taffeta dress and carried a bouquet of carnations and hyacinths. Donna Domes, was the flower girl and her white mar quisette dress was worn over blue taffeta. Delbert Domes was the ring bearer. Carlyle Reuterskiold stood with the groom a$ best man and ushers were William and Wayne Domes. For her daughter's nuptials Mrs. Domes chose a pastel blue wool Jersey dress with brown accessor ies and corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Sundsten attended her son s mar' dage in a grey wool suit with black accessories and a corsage of pink roses. A reception followed in the church parlors. Mrs. Wayne Domes and Mrs. Richard Domes presided at the coffee urns and Mrs. Harold Hurlburt cut the bride s cake. As sis ting were Misses Violet McKee, Jean McKinney and I mo gene Kemp I. After a wedding trip-south to California the newlyweds will be at home in Portland at 2014 S. E. 12th street. For traveling the bride donned a mist blue wool crepe suit with navy blue accessories and an orchid corsage. Willamlna Girl Wed WILLAMINA Miss Eeanor PowelL daughter of Mr. and Mm. Seen and By IERYME SPRING ... is just around the corner ... at least that's the way it seemed to us the last few days . . . the first crocuses were coming out of the ground . . daphne and heather are blooming . . . forsythia is about ready and a few camellias are out, depending on how badly they were damaged during the cold weather .... Women were out shopping in suits . . . no coats, bandanas or boots . . . doesn't seem possible that just two weeks ago we were walk ing on snow and ice . . . MUadr . .' ns also thinking about shopping for her spring wardrobe . . . just a few style notes ... clothes this year are simpler ... unfussy in the mod ern way ... lots of good-looking suits for Easter Sunday ... tai lored, but not too rigid looking . . . straight. Slim skirtnd the short, fitted jacket appears to be headed for toD popularity ... bolder checks, short houndstooth toppers j and neat geometric patterns ... long revers with low-buttoned closing are definitely 1950, usually with a deeply cut blouse neckline . The cinched-in belted line is another point to watch for Easter suits as well as back-bloused lines. Short toppers are a must for spring . ". . waist length capes or cape-jackets are the vogue .... Under the faster suit, its the white pique, rhinestone buttoned blouse that is sure to stay .... white neckwear, pique or linen, with cuffs' to match, is due for a big revival . . . Mrs. Custer Ross, who visited her son in the orient twice, will now head for the east coast on her travels . . , To Denver . . . for a several months stay will go Mrs. James G Heltzel, who will visit her son-in-law and daughter, the Bruce Ham bys (Margaret Heltzel) ...
