Poise, Ability to Fitj Gracefully Into Scene By Max Factor. Jr. Makt-us advisor t. th scrtea stars HOLLYWOOD (INS) Simply defined, poise it nothing more than the ability to fit comfortably and gracefully into any , scene or situation which may be encountered. Any woman who hat poise is self-confident, but never aggressively so. She is smartly groomed and customed, and Is intelligently aware of this fact. ! Any woman who suspects that she Is (ackln in pose, and whe wishes to correct this altaatton, should!; begin hy making sore that her appearance loaves nothiag to be desired. The poise of mart than one woman has disappeared when she realised the need of a sunk ore, smoothing of the lipstick application, n eveneas la powdering, or any other grooming error of a compar able sort. Unkempt hair-do or costume detail can bring about the same devestation to personal morale, with ' aeonseqnent complete loss of poise. i ' After having achieved perfection in appearance, don't be a fuss-budget about this fact. Don't fuss around redoing your make-up or hair for no other reason than that you are nervous -and don't know what else to do to conceal this lack of poise. Don't start looking for mlrrows wherevei yon go. A well poised person doesn't have to reassure herself by constantly studying her reflection. And. It Is not In the best of taste to de vote any major portion of year social time to self -admiration In a looking glass. Never be self-conscious because your clothes may not be as expensive as you would like them to be.' Costume cost is a fac ' tor which should not and need not enter into one's ability to enjoy the quality of poise. Buy clothes Just as finely as you can afford to, select them with intelligent .consideration of when and where you wish to wear them, keep them perfectly clean and in order, and then wear them without further thought. Bear in mind that poise is nothing more than being at ease under any and all circumstances. Perfect grooming plays a very Important part in being. at such," ease. Once you have achieved such perfection, chances are - that you will have no further worries about being poised. f Rotana Club Will Assist on Projects Rotana club met Monday eve ning at the home of Mrs. Chester Pickens with Mrs. Wilmer Wells . assisting.
