Merger Vote on Two Areas Slated Tomorrow in Salem Salem's proposed merger with West Salem and annexation of an area along South 12th street will come to a vote Friday. Balloting will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Salem ward polling places and one polling place in the suburban area to the south. The West Salem merger already has been approved by West Sa lem voters, but the Salem electo rate must cast a favorable ballot to complete the merger.
