The result left the Salem only lVt games above the dungeon dwelling Tigers. Tacoma sot a winning margin early by the expedient of scoring - eight runs In the first three frames off Bob Drilling and but one of those tallies was earned, in lact f the Tigers 12 runs exactly, 11 of 'em were of the unearned va riety. The Tacomans finished off Drilling with a four-run blast in the third and then whaled Jimmy Foster, third Salem hurler of the evening for 'four more in the eighth. Meanwhile Ray Fortier. who went the pitching distance for the Tigers, was having his troubles but they didn't add up to the miseries the Solon hillmen suf fered. After blanking the Senators through the first five innings For tier gave up a pair of runs in the sixth as Orrin Snyder col lected his third hit of the night behind three walks.
