Stocks React
To Day's News
NEW YORK, May 7 -JPf- Tor
one. day this week the stock mar
ket behaved as though it had some
relation with the outside world.
Prices responded decisively to
tht days news.
Only 240,000 shares of stock
changed hands and prices barely 1
stirred. A week ago turnover was
310.000.
Xews that the Berlin blockade
would be lifted gave the market
its biggest flip forward in the
past five weeks on Wednesday.
The general level of prices hov
ered close to the highest in a cou- '
pie of months. Individual issues '
advanced fractions to a peak of 1
S points or so, with a number at
toj, quotations for the year.
Saturday's trading resulted in
Just about a dead heat. Only 392
individual issues appeared on a
slow-moving ticker tape. Of these
179 advanced and 208 declined.
The Associated Press average of
60 stocks remained at 63 5, which
compared with 63 at the close last

demand for this new type of car service con be an extremely
profitable field for you if you get into It ot once.
The pioneering is completed. Over 120 stations are In
Operation right now. Very shortly me owners of over 200
Stations will be realizing unexpected high profits from this novel,

Cities such at Detroit, New York, Peoria, Chicago, tos
Angeles, St. Louis, Houston, Boston, New Orleans, San Francisco,
De Moines, Portland, Maine, Seattle, Denver, Washington, D.C.,

tions in these and other cities of all sizes are available -and

communities with less potential business may be restricted to
even a single station with obvious advantages to the holder of
exclusive rights to ell the local os well as tourist business. In any
Case, the holder of a Minit-Man Franchise is fully protected.
Upwards of 300 cars per day are being washed by most
stations. Some report business averaging 500 per day, while
one recorded a 1000 car day! With no station charging less
than $1.00 per cor ond with only a nominal amount of lebor
needed, the entire cost of the mochire Is soon written off.
An exclusive franchise to own and operate a Minit-Man WaaheS
ia available in thia area right now
Special experience in this field Is not required; present
successful owners include, among others, an accountant,
restaurant owner, teacher, chemist, as well as a number of
