A Crews Widen Amity Streets AMITY A group of landmark maple trees succumbed to the woodman's ax last week as crews began grading, widening and re surfacing Amity streets. The old trees, located in front af the Law home, were removed to make way for widening of Trade street from Sixth street aouth to the curve near the bridge. The street will be paved from sidewalk to sidewalk. Fall ing crews reported the trees were rotted and constituted a men ace. A Labish Economies Club to Meet LABISH CENTER The Home Economics club meeting has been postponed until Friday, April 29. The group will meet in the audi torium of the Portland Gas & Coke company in Salem at 10:30 a.m. when Mrs. Horace Bibby and Mrs. Harry Boehm will conduct a meeting on "Broiled Dinners." There will be a no-host dinner at noon. Visiting here from Clark, South Dakota are Mr. and Mrs. Ver non Beller who spent several days at the E. B. Klampe home. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Klampe enter tained for them on Sunday. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Klampe and Darryl, and Mr. and Mrs. X. B. Klampe. A mole, unfed for 12 hours, will starve to death.
