Dean Morris pointed out that education for responsible living is the most important thing that can be taught students, and the more modern conveniences that are created, the more important is that education for responsibility, adding that "in yesteryear, the " drunken driver got home safely because his horses weren't drunk. Today is a 'different story." Reports made - at the meeting were that the PTA association now has 426 members. The Bird bouse contest, sponsored by the recreation committee, closes on March 4. Olga Johnson, commit tee chairman, reported, that the SUverton PTA student aid com mittee needed contributions of clothing, shoes, stockings and other clothing. Clothing for the school children of Coblenz, Ger many will be gathered at the March meeting. Past presidents of the Silver ton PTA present were presented with gardenias and included Mrs. Helen Wrightman, Mrs. John Hoblitt, Mrs. Martin Hannan, Mrs. F. J. RoubaL, Mrs. Helmer Brokke, Hannah M. Olson, Mrs. Ole Meland, Mrs. Gordan Van- B rooks Family Returns From Washington Visit BROOKS Mr. and Mrs. Chris Otto returned Saturday from a vi sit at Copalis Crossing, Wash., where they were guests of the Leo Potters and Paul Conklins. The women: are sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wesolowski, son-in-law 'and daughter of the Ottos are in the Salem Memorial hospital, following an automobile collision on the Aumsville cut-off Thursday. They suffered severe cuts and bruises. Wesolowski was taking his wife to the hospital for surgery at the time. The driver of - the other car, Gilbert Kintz, was injured and is in the same hospital. Bethel Park Mission Group Holds Meeting BROOKS Bethel Park Wo men's Missionary council met Wednesday i with Mrs. J. Gentry in the Eldridge district. Others present were Mrs. A. H. Jensen, Mrs. Edward Edmund, Mrs. Mc Gee, Mrs. - Frank Tlshler, Mrs. Dodd, Mrs. Lester Davis, Mrs. Dor- ma Lee Buxtn and Mrs. Gentry. CLUB ENTERTAINED UNION HILL Mrs. Roy King and Helen , Stromsmo entertained the Woman's club at Kings Thurs day. Hardie Phillips was re - elected secretary, .Waldo Miller as execu tive officer to succeed William Fu- trell and Clyde Johnson as instruc tor. Visitors were John Deckard and Willie Miller.
