was a friendship, love and truth
degree dedicated to her and ori
ginated by, Velura Uennan, who
was the narrator. Marie Cole sang

and Estelle Spiva read the Bible
scriptures. A tableau included
Shirlee Darby and Bernice Fair.
Felix Wright of Silverton sang
"Rock of Ages."
Refreshments were served. The
Odd Fellows were hosts with D.
George Cole as chairman. Tressa
Van Nuys and other Rebekahs dec
orated. Officers and committee members
made their reports of the year's
activities at. the last regular meet
ing of Eva Rebekah lodge 92.
The Rebekah degree was con
ferred on Ed Hobson, after which
16 ladies in pastel formats put on
a drill. Ruth Wood gave a farewell
address to the lodge as noble grand.

firemen were announced Wednes
day as members of the Silverton
volunteer fire department two of
the older members retired and
were elected to honorary member
ship.
New members are Clarence
Greenfield. Melvin Zahler, Ken
neth Henjum, William Starkey,
Eugene Smith and Earl Hartman,
jr. Retiring are Earl Hartman. siu.
and L. F. Tucker, both of whom
have been members for 25 years
and have served as fire chiefs.
The department now has 23 ac
