Variety Show Presented at Spring Valley SPRING VALLEY An out standing program of the season for Spring Valley community club was given Friday night at the schoolhouse by Mrs. Howard Jenks and her school of dancing. Mrs. Paul Hale was accompa nist for dancing, and the program wa? interspersed with instrumen tal piano numbers by Mrs. Hale and Ruth Carlson, accordion num bers by Donna McLaughlin, and mandolin selection by Ruth Ann Susmilch. Mrs Jenks led a community sing, followed by a soft shoe tap dance by diminutive Ilene Rock; ballet number by Janie Baker; a burlesque on an English gentle man in costume by Mrs. Jenks; a waltz clog tap dance by a group including Iris Hunt. Donna Mc- Cldre, Ilene Rock. Ruth Carlson, Sally Walling and Carolyn Pepper; ' acrobatic dance by Janie Baker and Mrs. Jenks: an original tap dance number by Mrs. Jenks and Dale Rock. The committee on arrangements was Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Carleson. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Meyers and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Boyington. Mrs. Harvey McLaughlin, presi dent of the club, conducted tha business meeting. Roy Carr re ported he had seen the county court and that they had recom mended leveling and grading tha Spring valley four corners. Introduced as newcomers were Mr. and Mxs. C. Dick, who have purchased the Howard Teeple farm. Mrs. McLaughlin appointed as February committee, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. Z. X. Chard and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Susmilch. Liberty Group To Plan Fete LIBERTY Mr. and Mrs. John VanLoh and Mrs. Vernon Decatur returned Sunday from Los An geles, where they attended the funeral of Mrs. Delbert Weir. A new Brownie troop has been formed with Mrs. Arthur Wirth as leader and Mrs. Gerald Knep- per assistant leader. The committee for the carnival to be held February will meet Monday night at the hall to dis cuss further plans. Posters are " i Deing-maae oy noger core aa Grant Jenkins. The junior high students who play basketball are asked to r ex port on Monday night when Vir cil Lamb, will instruct them. Tues day and Thursday nights are for senior high students alone.
