Salem Folk Away for Holiday A number of Salem families will be away for the Christmas holiday and weekend to be with other relative-;. Secretary of State and Mrs. Karl Neu'biy and daughter, Shirlee, will spend Christmas in Corvallis with Mrs. Newbry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. William J. Bus ick and Miss Jeanne Busick will be in Portland for the holiday as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hazlett. In Vancouver, Wash., for the Christmas weekend are Mr. and Mrs. Silas Gaiser. Miss Janet Gai ser, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gil more, Miss Jo-Ann Gilmore and James Gilmore, who will be guests of Mr. Gaisers and Mrs. Gilmore's brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Paul Gaiser. Spending Christmas in Portland with Mr. and Mrs. L.. M. Pickett are their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bower, Mrs. Hugh Bower and Miss Janet Bower. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Bone steele will motor to Woodland, Wash., this afternoon to spend Christmas night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Werter Meeker. They will be joined there by Mrs. Bonesteele's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. John Wall and son, John, who is home from the University of Michigan for the holidays, all of Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. Bonesteele will entertain their immediate family at dinner earlier in the day at their Sagin aw street home. Weekend in Tillamook Mr. and Mrs. Harrison W. El gin, jr. and son, Harrison, are spending the Christmas weekend in Tillamook with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George P. Winslow. Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Bahlburg and daughter, Deborah, are in Tulelake. Calif., for the Christmas holiday as guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Bentley. Mrs. Frank W. Dr. and Mrs. Frederick Hill Thompson will -entertain with thi ir annual Christmas tree party this morning at their Schurman road home. Twenty-four of their friends have been invited to call at 11 o'clock and after the tree refreshments will be served by the hosts. Later in the day the Thompsons will be hosts for a Christmas dinner for a few of their friends. Gathering today at the home of Dr. and Mrs. L. O. Clement are their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Barnett and sons. Tommy, Jim and Terry, who have come north from their home in Stockton.
