will present their Christmas pro
gram in Union Hill - grange ball
Wednesday, December 22 at 8 p.m.
Directing the program are the
teachers, Mrs. Dorothy Carpenter
and Mrs. Marjorie Nelson; pianists
are Frances Fox and Shirley Doer

A three-act comic operetta "The
Christmas Thieves" will be pre
sented, the stage set representing
the hayloft of a barn. Taking parts

the Woman's club at the annual
Christmas party Thursday. Mrs.

Fisher of Brownsville was elected
president and Edward J. Bell of
Stayton re-elected secretary-treasurer.
Brownsville fire department was
host to the group including fire
departments of Albany, Browns
ville, Harrisburg. Lebanon, Scio,
Stayton, Jefferson Philomath,
Monroe, Halsey, Corvallis, Sweet
Home. Crown-Zellerbach, Adair
Village and Shedd. and also a
number of rural fire districts in
this area. The association has
been in operation for 12 years,
meeting monthly, in the interest
of better fire protection and co
operation. Next meeting will be at Har
risburg Wednesday, January 3.

for membership has been carried
on among boys and girls and the
results of the contest will be an
