Friday, nwrwibw 28. 184 Gervais Group Plans for Road GERVAIS Chamber of Corn mere met Monday when Emil Banner spoke on the Patman -Robinson bill and discussed edu cational highlights relating to it. Improvement of a short stretch of road west of town, and a school patrol traffic system were discus sed. Community 500 Card club met Tuesday for 7 p. m. no host din ner, followed by six tables of cards. Mrs. Sumner Stevens, Brentford J. Miller, Mrs. Fred Manning and Antoine DeJardin won prizes. Hostesses for the next meeting will be Mrs. Cecil ' Colby and Mrs. M. J. Mahoney. John Henny has returned home after several days in Salem Me morial hospital. Mrs. Fred Manning returned this week after a week with her mother, Mrs. Dorothy Pillette In Portland. Mr.. and Mrs. Albert Prantl are the parents of a son, born at the Silverton hospital, November 21. Homer Davis underwent surg ery last week at the Good Sa maritan hospital, Portland, and will be there for several weeks. Mrs. R. S. Marshall entertain ed with a dinner Tuesday honor ing her husband's 79th birthday. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. B. J. J. Miller; Mr. and Mrs. Sumner Ste vens of Gervais, and their daugh ter, Mrs. John Jelderks and Mrs. George Khoten of Salem. Canadians Holiday Guests in Swegle SWEGLE Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Becker, their daughter Ann and their house guest, Mrs. Max McDoufV of Edmonton, Canada, were in Salem for the annual din ner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. ; William Thomas, South 12th , street. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Holler were hosts for the La Due family dinner this year. Present were Mr. and Mrs. V. M. La Due, Mr. and Mrs.' Melvin La Due and their three children, Mr. and Mrs. 1 Keith La Due and Mr. and Mrs. Holler and their three children, Stephen, Douglas and Frank. Also entertaining Thursday at dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Ray j Bernardy at their home on Brown j road. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. ! Phil Endres and sons, Allen and Joe; Mr. and Mrs. James Lies j and son, Danny, and Clarence i Endres, all of Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Gibb and : sons. Gerald and Edward, drove to Mulino Thursay for Thanks giving dinner with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Jones-burg. Zeaa Mr. and Mrs. Clarence T. Merrick and Audrey, and Mrs. R. B. Holdredge were Thanksgiv ing guests at the McMinnville home of Mr. and Mrs. James Watts. Lucky You!
