'f V-y Garden Club at Dawson Home Kingwood Garden club was en tertained Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Jennie Dawson. A dessert luncheon was served with Mrs. A. W. Zysset daughter of the hostess, assisting, Mrs. Her bert Hilke presided at the meet ing in the absence of the president, Mrs. Harry Bonney. Subject for discussion was "Landscaping." Attending were Mesdames Fred Kuhn, J. I. Miller, Robert Forster, H. D. Hamm, Herbert Hilke, Eliz abeth Hoffman, Mae White, W. C. Heise, A. W. Zysset and Jennie Dawson. Luella Basl Now Mrs. Nielson STAYTON Scene of a late fall wedding Tuesday morning, No vember 18, was the Immaculate Conception Catholic church In Stayton, when Miss Luella Basl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank - Basl of Coon Hollow, became the bride of Donald Charles Nielson, on of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nielson of Stayton, route 1. The Rev. Math. Jonas performed the cere mony. Roger and Eddie Nielson, brothers of the groom, were Mass servers. Mrs. George Van Dehey was organist and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Herb and Jeanette Musen sang. Given In marriage by her fa ther, the bride wore a gown of white brocaded satin and carried a white prayer book which was topped with white chrysanthe mums with white satin streamers. Her fingertip veil was caught in a headdress of orange blossoms. Miss Mary Lou Nielson, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. Her gown was of aqua satin and she wore a headdress of satin and net- with flowers. Bridesmaids were Miss Alice Sandberg and Miss Marie Basl. Their gowns were of pink satin and they wore similar headdresses. All carried bouquets of chrysanthemums. Judy Ann Nielson, another sis ter of the groom, was flower girl. She wore a frock of aqua satin. Dick Basl, brother of the bride, was best man. Ushers were George Basl and Cecil Herb. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Basl chose a two-piece dress of print with black accessories. Mrs. Nielson attended the wed ding of her son in a brown two- Eece dress with black accessories. th had corsages of chrysanthe mums. A wedding dinner was served at the Santiam Valley Grange hall In Lyons with covers placed for a hundred guests. A reception was held at the hall in the afternoon followed by a dance for friends of the couple In the evening. The wedding cake was cut by Mrs. Harold Brown. Miss Lora Schmid passed the guest book. The couple left on a wedding trip to the coast, the bride wear ing a brown suit for going away. They will make their home on the Lambrecht farm on Fern Ridge which was a gift of the bride's parents. The bride graduated with the class of '48 from Stayton high school and the groom' graduated from the same school in 1949. He served in Manila in the radio di vision of the army during the war. To Assist With Seal Sale Members of the 8 et 40 Salon 412 of the American Legion tux iliary met at the home of Mrs. Ben Kuensting near Tigard Wed nesday night for a no-host dinner and meeting; Members will; assist with the Christmas Seal mailing for the Marion County Tuberculosis and Health Association, also transport ing patients; to the tuberculosis hospital for ; examinations. Four members have enrolled in the vol unteer hospital workers class in the Portland Veterans hospital under the sponsorship of the American Legion auxiliary. Mrs. H. H. Henry was unani mously accepted into partnership in the organization. The Christ mas party will be December 15 in the Mayflower hall for dinner and exchange of gifts, husbands of partners as guests. Hendersons to 0 Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hender son are celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary at a recep tion at IOO hall December 10. The Hendersons live at Chema wa. Announcement was made at the Monday night meeting of the Kebexan lodge. Presentation of jewels will take place on Monday, November 29 at the Rebekah meeting. Report has come to Salem of the birth of a son to the Rev. and Mrs. Thomas Allport at Bel lingham, Wash, on Friday. The boy, Paul Thomas, has a sister, Mary, and brother, Stephen. The Rev. Allport, pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran church in Bellingham, is the son of Mrs. Augusta Allport of Salem. His wife, the former Clarice Kolbe, is the daughter of Mrs. B. A. Kolbe also of Salem. of Mrs. Frank Clark for niece, Lucille Dunigan, home their bride-elect of Melvin Pavlik. Bidden were Mesdames Thomas Lovery.
