GREATLY MUSIC Breakfast For Past Officers Past Presidents club of Capital unit. No. 9, American Legion aux iliary met at Nohlgren's on Thurs day morning for the annual Arm istice day breakfast. The Legion colors, blue and gold, were carried out in the table decorations and year books were presented to each member by Mrs. Paul Gemmell, president. Mrs. Earl Andresen gave a history of the first break fast held ten years ago and each succeeding one. Mrs. Leon Brown gave a talk on Armistice day. Speakers for Rally Named Mrs. Helen Duff Bauph, na tional director of the Christian Business and Professional Wom en's council and youth home mis sions, and her associate, Miss Mary Clark, will be the speakers at the youth home missions din ner rally Nov. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the First Evangelical United Brethren church. The dinner is being sponsored by the Salem Christian Business and Profes sional Women's council. Men and women are invited to attend. Mrs. Baugh and Miss Clark have been traveling throughout the United States speaking to Christian Business and Profes sional Women's councils. This or ganization sends out missionary women to communities where there are no churches or at the request of churches. Village Mis sions has recently set up a pro gram of sending couples to com munities where church doors have been closed. It is this nation-wide, non- denominational program which Mrs. Baugh will present at the rally. Mrs. Baugh spoke at the youth home mis sions rally in Salem last February. Tickets for the rally dinner are on sale at the Bible Book Store, 150 S. Liberty st. ' - wii - Au Revoir Luncheon Friday Mrs. Homer McWain was hon ored at a farewell luncheon on Friday afternoon when Mrs. Char Ies Cole entertained at her North 21st street home. Mrs. McWain is leaving the first of December for Santa Ana, Calif., to spend the winter with, her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Trick, and son, Wesley McWain. An arrangement of chrysanthe mums and roses provided the dec orative note on the luncheon table. The afternoon hours were spent informally. Father-Daughter Banquet Held Chadwick Assembly No. 3, Or der of Rainbow for Girls, held its annual father - daughter banquet, Tuesday night at the Masonic hall. Rex Hartley, worthy grand patron of the Order of Eastern Star, the honor guest, spoke. Worthy Ad visor Thais Crandall presided at the dinner. The dining room was decorated in the fall motif, with leaves, gourds, red berries and chrysan themums on the tables. Following the banquet the Ma sonic fathers and their daughters attended a Rainbow meeting. The following program was arranged by Leah Case: reading, Barbara Center? vocal solos by Marilyn Power, accompanied by Dorothy Pederson; piano solos by Betty-Jo Davenport; song by the Rainbow choir which was directed by Ron ald Craven, and accompanied by Celia Weaver. An honorary membership degree was conferred on Mrs. Hartley. Honored guests were Mr. and Mrs. Rex Hartley, Mrs. Reeher, worthy matron of Chadwick chapter; Her man Johnston, worthy patron of Chadwick chapter; Wayne Henry, member of the state executive board of Rainbow. The next meeting November 23 will be initiation and further plans for the Rainbow formal will be made.. The annual Rainbow Christmas formal dance will be held Decem ber 22 at the armory. Weekend geest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Duncan is her uncle, Benham Sell of Coquil le, who is leaving Monday for Belfast, Ireland, where he will be married. Two Bluebird Groups Formed Two Bluebird groups have been organized at St Joseph's school the past month, one the second grade group called the Daffy- Down-Dillies. the other for third and fourth graders called Eager Beavers. The leader for both groups is Mrs. Jeannette Graen with Mrs. C. J. Meusey as as sistant. The girls are making Christmas gifts now and are also planning to make fir wreaths to sell. Officers of the second grade group are president, Ann Meusey; vice president, Sandra Etzel; sec retary, Marilyn Coffel, and treas urer, Jeanne Martinez. Officers of the older group are president. Evelyn Fischer; vice president, Mary Jo Meusey: secretary, Mary Gay lord; and treasurer, Joanne Barnwell. , The second grade group meets every Monday at school from 2:30 to 3:30 while the third and fourth graders meet from 3:30 to 4:30 the same day. Any girl attending St. Joseph's between the ages of 7 and 10 Is eligible. Decorations Are . Demonstrated SPRING VALLEY The mak ing of holiday decorations from nature was demonstrated, at an in teresting all-day meeting of the Lincoln and Spring Valley home extension unit at the home of Mrs. R. V. Carlson, Wednesday. Mrs. Worth W. Henry and Mrs. Ben Mc Kinney were project leaders and assisted In making attractive wreaths, miniature trees and swags. Mrs. H. D. Burns, unit chairman, presided at the meeting and appointed as committees, Mrs. Ben McKinney, hospitality; Mrs. Lois Crawford, publicity; Mrs. Worth W. Henry, finance. The group discussed sponsoring a 4-H calf club for the districts of Lincoln, Spring Valley and Zena and Mrs. Fleet Waldron was appointed to find out how many children would be interested. Fur niture arrangement will be the subject at the January meeting when Mrs. Viola B. Shaffer, home demonstration agent, will be pre sent. Mrs. T. L.
